Colorado College is searching for qualified professionals to fill the position of full-time Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach.  The appointee will serve under a 9-month contract which does not include the programs summer camps.

The full-time assistant coach is responsible for participating in the supervision and direction of all aspects of the team functions. The assistant coach will be responsible for on-court instruction to include player development, assisting in practice and game planning, as well as scouting of opponents and film-exchange.  The assistant coach must also fulfill the role of a mentor, possessing great skills in communication, as well as character and team-building attributes.

The assistant coach must also be energetic and enthusiastically involved in the programs recruiting efforts.  The individual must be able to demonstrate the ability to identify and evaluate qualified student-athletes for a Top 25 liberal arts college.  In addition, the candidate must be able to promote the Colorado College brand through the use of social media.

The assistant coach duties will also include assisting in scheduling, planning youth and elite summer camps, alumni relations, as well as commitment to the programs service projects.

Finally, the assistant coach must be committed to personal and professional development.

Required Skills

The successful candidate will have strong technical skills in basketball, a general understanding of college athletics programs and excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.  In addition, the candidate will be well organized, containing solid presentation skills especially in the area of video editing and film analysis.

Required Experience

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree plus two to four years of relevant college-level or professional-level playing experience and one or more years of coaching experience, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
