Description:

Webber International University is accepting applications for a full-time, 12-month, Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach. The preferred candidate will have collegiate playing and/or coaching experience. The Assistant Coach will assist the head coach in leading all aspects of an NAIA Men’s basketball athletic program. Essential functions include, but not limited to:

1. Understand, embodies, and supports the team’s philosophy as developed by the Head Coach.
2. Assists the Head Coach in instruction and analysis of student athletes.
3. Assist the head coach with practice and game-day preparation and execution.
4. Be the Head Coach for our Development Team.
5. Provides skill demonstrations of positions
6. Critiques athletes’ performance to determine skills and abilities that need strengthening for overall team improvement.
7. Assists with the recruitment of student athletes
8. Assists with campus tours, recruiting visits, and identifying PSA’s

9. Advises students with respect to athletic performance and other personal development issues
10. Ensures that athletes reach their academic goals by monitoring class attendance and ensuring they receive academic support as necessary
11. Assists with scheduling pre-season, season and other games
12. Assists with developing practice plans and individual workouts for players
13. Manages film breakdown, exchange, and game planning for each opponent
14. Must have flexible hours, the ability to travel and work weekends
15. Assists the Head Coach in fundraising for the program and managing the budget
16. Follow rules and regulations in the school’s handbook

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
2. Previous collegiate coaching and recruiting experience preferred
3. Must demonstrate knowledge of NAIA philosophy, recruitment, rules and regulations
4. Must have the willingness to work nights and weekends
5. Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal,
organizational, planning, and time management skills.
6. Valid driver’s license is required
7. Willingness to support the Mission and Core Values of the University

COMPENSATION
1. Pay: $18,000
