Hillsborough Community College is a Division I member of the NJCAA which competes in the Suncoast Conference. The assistant coach position is responsible for assisting the head coach in providing exemplary student-athlete experience emphasizing academic achievement, personal development, social responsibility and competitive excellence. Responsibilities include preparing practice schedules, making sure the court or field is ready for play, assisting with recruitment, and assisting the Head Coach in managing the program within the guidelines of the NJCAA/FCSAA.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer applicants with: (1) at least two years of coaching experience at the high school and/or college level, (2) knowledge of and adherence of NJCAA/FCSAA rules and regulations, (3) strong interpersonal skills, (4) commitment to student athlete development, and (5) demonstrated knowledge of specific sport.

This position is Grade 3 (Part-Time Advanced Technician) and will not exceed 29 working hours per week. The assistant coach will work for the head coach and the College’s Athletics Director (the Dean of Student Services on the Dale Mabry campus).
