The Assistant Coach will be responsible to assist the head coach in implementing the head coach’s plans for the direction and development of a nationally competitive Division I Men’s Basketball program at Kennesaw State University. The individual will perform a variety of functions including, but not limited to, the following as assigned by the head coach: recruitment, coaching, budget management, purchasing equipment and uniforms, scheduling of games and practices, public relations and fundraising. The assistant coach is responsible for supporting the implementation of plans and programs which will achieve academic achievement, retention and graduation of each student-athlete on the roster. Assume as directed by the head coach, a leadership or support role in department-wide priorities and initiatives. The assistant coach will be asked by the head coach to organize, supervise, coordinate, and employ sound coaching techniques and practices. This person will participate in university and Athletic Department events as required. The person must have a thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, conference, State of Georgia and university policies, rules and regulations. Under the direction of the head coach, they will prepare student-athletes physically, mentally, and emotionally to compete for Conference Championships and post-season competition. They will work to support the programs plan to create an atmosphere favorable to the ethical, academic and athletic development of student-athletes. Other duties as assigned by the head coach or Athletic Director.
