Assistant Coach Full-time $24,000 + benefits, possible fitness center hours, and/or teaching NO room and board NJCAA Division I, Region IX Duties will consist of assisting with managing and coaching the men’s basketball program including, recruiting and advising athletes, public relations, fund raising and other responsibilities within the boundaries of the rules and regulations of the Region IX, the National Junior College Athletic Association and Lamar Community College. Activities will require some evening and weekend hours as well as overnight travel. • Ability to organize and prioritize and work effectively in a college environment, subject to frequently changing priorities • Strong communication skills including both written and verbal • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to work with the entire community college and media outlets in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner • General knowledge of academic and athletic programs, more specifically those offered by the college • Ability to work in a team environment (work together to accomplish goals, promote college image, and provide excellent customer service) • Proven ability to work with diverse populations including traditional and non-traditional students • Bachelor’s Degree • Previous Coaching Experience • Must have knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations • A valid CDL license (or can obtain one shortly after starting in the role)
