The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach is responsible for providing leadership, organization, and supervision to assist in the management of Lamar Community College’s men’s basketball program.

The incumbent will motivate and lead student athletes to both academic and athletic success, recruit student athletes, assist with administrative functions, support management of the program and adhere to NJCAA Division I and Region IX rules and regulations. The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach will also perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree required.

Required Skills & Abilities:
*Ability to motivate and lead student athletes toward competitive and academic success.
*Ability to recruit student-athletes.
*Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends.
*Ability to work with high school and travel team coaches.
*Ability to manage administrative tasks related to the operation of college level team sports
*Strong verbal and written communications skills.

Duties may include the following based on skills and experience:
Video Scouting Breakdown, Player Development, Practice Preparation and Execution, On Floor Coaching, Opponent Scouting, Recruiting, laundry, helping with both varsity and junior varsity programs as needed, transportation as needed.

Preferred: CDL driver license

Salary: $24,000 plus benefits that accrue to full-time positions within the Colorado Community College System.
