PRIMARY FUNCTION: Assist head coach in the overall day to day operations of the men’s basketball program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Director of Basketball Operations with budget management
Fund allocation along with proposing special projects that may entail special funding (facilities, video equipment, etc.)
Liaison between head coach to DIA administration as it relates to the sport of men’s basketball
Facility scheduling- coordination with women’s basketball in scheduling facilities usage for the State Farm Center
Fundraising liaison
Schedule, organize and participate in speaking engagements promoting the Men’s Basketball Program
Attendance at donor events for the purpose of promoting the program, and donor cultivation
Serve as liaison between head coach and the following
Assistant coaches- coordinate and organize recruiting board including specific prospects, scheduling both off-site and on-campus recruiting visits by prospective student athletes
Basketball support staff- participate in the coordination of the student staff hiring process, including assignment of work, and scheduling to execute all practice activities correctly and promptly
Medical staff- communicate with athletic trainer to develop daily reports for head coach
Strength staff- communicate with strength and conditioning coach to develop daily reports for head coach
Directly supervise and assign work for office assistants (full time and student help)
Coordinate all advance scouting for opponents through DVSport Software and Synergy Sports Tech. Maintain working knowledge of scouting, recruiting and video software
Annually organize and direct the Illinois Basketball Coaches Clinic, a series of multi day events targeted to those interested in a career in collegiate coaching.
Construct and develop the annual schedule for opponents in conjunction with head coach
Construct production of monthly newsletters
Connect with all current Illinois high school coaches on a monthly basis keeping them up-to-date with the latest news and notes with the Illinois basketball program
Connect with all former players, coaches and managers on a monthly basis keeping them up-to-date with the latest news and notes with the Illinois basketball program
Coordinate summer jobs and housing programs for men’s basketball student athletes
Coordinate, organize, and oversee all activities as it relates to the annual awards banquet,
Maintain knowledge of and compliance with, specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institution rules that relate to this position.
