SUMMARY

Directly report to Head Coach , assist in all aspects of Mercyhurst University Men’s Basketball day to day operations, which includes recruiting of student-athletes; arranging official and unofficial visits of perspective student-athletes; monitoring of academics; scouting of opponents working with guards and/or forwards in practice; fundraising; scheduling; team travel; overseeing managers and work study , practices; filming of games and washing of uniforms; oversee of PSAC film exchange using Synergy; assisting in practices and game scouting reports, along with other duties assigned by the Head Coach.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Assist with the court and classroom instruction and coaching basketball techniques and strategy of the Mercyhurst University basketball team; evaluate individual performance and provide leadership and instruction in areas of deficiency as required.
-Participate in the collection and analysis of tactical and statistical data of opponent teams; assist in designing game plans and strategies.
-Counsel team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters, coordinate with University Undergraduate Admissions Office to establish academic eligibility and arrange meetings between prospects and the University; recommend individuals for basketball scholarships.
-Compile and assist in the analysis of game statistics for an assigned area of Mercyhurst basketball team performance. -Assist in the planning and administering of the off-season physical training program; provide special training for individual basketball team members as required.
-Plan, organize, and coordinate travel arrangements for the team, recruits, and staff.
-Study, evaluate, and recommend innovations in basketball strategy.
-Represent the Mercyhurst University Athletic Department in professional, civic, charity and alumni events. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
