Serve as Assistant Varsity Coach of Men’s Basketball: assist with the development of and implement recruiting plans in consultation with the Head Coach; following consultation with the Academic Affairs Advisor, identify and recommend prospective student-athletes and recruiting visits to the Head Coach; actively recruit and evaluate prospects; conduct recruitment visits; conduct recruitment competition evaluations and in-person visits to home, school, showcase camps and club competitions as per NCAA DIII (National Collegiate Athletics Association Division III) and UAA (University Athletics Association) regulations; assess prospective student-athletes skills/abilities and prepare written evaluations of prospective student-athletes for Head Coach’s review. Work collaboratively with the Head Coach to develop practice plans, strategies for upcoming contests, and player skills and conditioning programs. Develop and execute a segment(s) of each practice including presenting scouting reports on upcoming opponents; presenting a new defensive or offensive scheme; demonstrating or conducting special player position drills and training. Assess strengths and weaknesses of NYU student-athletes and the athletes on opposing teams and develop strategies and tactics to assist the Head Coach in planning game strategy.
