Xavier University of Louisiana, a NAIA Division I Instituition and member of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference is seeking a full-time (12 Month) qualified candidate for the position of Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach.

This position reports to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and has the primary responsibility of assisting in all areas of the men’s basketball program including coaching and implementing practice plans as developed by the Head Coach. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to identifying, evaluating and recruiting athletically and academically qualified student-athletes. Duties also involve coordinating travel arrangements, fostering academic, athletic and personal growth of student-athletes while effectively promoting Xavier University mission.

Candidate must also have sound written and verbal communication skills, a commitment to athletic and academic success and a strong working knowledge of NAIA rules and bylaws. A commitment to the academic achievement of student-athletes and the ability to act as a mentor and leader. The ability to manage multiple tasks is essential. Knowledge of related computer applications is important. This position has non-standard hours and requires the ability to travel with a substantial time commitment. Evidence of degree(s) required at time of hire. Salary is commensurate with experience.
