Description:

The Assistant Director, Men’s Basketball Operations will provide administrative support for all Men’s Basketball program activities. The incumbent will assist with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating travel among other responsibilities. This position will assist the Director, Men’s Basketball Operations and coaching staff with other projects as assigned. This is a contract position.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the planning of team travel and the preparation for home game events.
  • Work with the Director, Men’s Basketball Operations to facilitate the film exchange process and all other aspects of video operations.
  • Help manage equipment inventory and supplies for the team.
  • Assist in the recruitment process, help with the maintenance and organization of the recruiting and compliance databases, and take part in on-campus recruiting activities.
  • Assist in the coordination of athletic administrative areas, such as marketing, sports information, game operations, ticketing, etc.
  • Research and coordinate community service activities for Men’s Basketball student-athletes.
  • Learn about donor relations, maintain an alumni database, and be involved in alumni relations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required and equivalent training/experience.
  • Problem-solving skills and effective listening skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and to work with frequent interruptions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of the sport of basketball.
  • Understanding of NCAA compliance rules as they relate to Men’s Basketball.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in sports operations.
  • Demonstration of high levels of energy, creativity, and initiative.
  • Current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the Pacific-12 Conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA
