Bryant & Stratton College is seeking an Assistant Coach for our Men’s Basketball Team.

Experience as an Assistant Coach is preferred but candidates with on-court Basketball experience seeking to develop into a Head Coach will be considered. The Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting the Head Coach in the overall development and advancement of a competitive athletic program while demonstrating high moral and ethical standards and positive sportsmanship.

 

The Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting the Head Coach in preparing student-athletes for competition via assigned roles on and off the field.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Assists in fielding a competitive team that promotes good sportsmanship and represents the College in positive manner.
  • Assists the Head Coach in the recruitment process of potential student-athletes.
  • Participates in team practices to develop the skills of the student-athletes and assist the Head Coach in coaching the team at games.
  • Adheres to company policy and procedures, as well as state, federal and USCCA regulations.
  • Executes other team-related tasks as assigned by the Head Coach.
  • Works with the Head Coach in coordinating and/or facilitating transportation to and from games and practices via team van.

This is an exempt position with work hours that best suit the needs of the student-athlete.  These hours include the team practice and/or training schedule, and scheduled games.  These hours may include night, weekends, and possible overnight travel.

QUALIFICATIONS & POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Basketball coaching experience at the high school level or above
  • Pass a criminal background check
  • First aid/CPR certification is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning and leadership skills required
  • Must be able to serve as a positive role model for young adults
  • Familiarity with USCCA rules and regulations is a plus
  • Good driving record is preferred
