College of San Mateo Community College (CSM), a member of the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) located in the Peninsula of the Bay Area is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Coach for Men’s Basketball. This is a part-time paid position working up to 30 plus hours per week that includes an annual stipend of $30k. This position reports directly to the Head Coach for Men’s Basketball. This is part time, paid position that demands a high level of commitment and drive to succeed.

Duties and Responsibilities

 Assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of the program, include but not limited to:

1) Academic Coordination- assisting student-athletes with their academic success.

2) Recruiting Coordination- assist with the evaluation and recruitment of student-athletes throughout California.

3) On the court coaching, player development, and assist with daily implementation of schemes.

4) Scouting opponents.

5) Game Day Coordination- Ability to drive school vehicles, input game stats, streaming games, pre-game roster certification, post-game equipment and gear verification.

6) Social Media updates and development.

7) Assist with the supervision of youth and team camps

Minimum Qualifications  

1) Bachelor’s degree

2) Valid California driver’s license, or the ability to attain one.

Preferred Experience 

1) Working knowledge of the CCCAA Rules and Regulations

2) Previous coaching experience, High School and/or College coaching experience
