Description:

Serve as Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach reporting to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach.  Assist head coach in the planning, organizing, and coaching of the basketball team.  Other responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting the head coach with the recruiting, academic oversight, fundraising, and coordinating of camps and coaching clinics.  Maintain knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

Duties include the following:

  • Assist with daily practice and game coaching
  • Recruit prospective student athletes
  • Assist with team travel and equipment check out and return
  • Assist with summer camps and clinics
  • Enforce NCAA and regulations regarding team participation
Facilities and Events Coordinator Duties

Assist with athletic facilities and events reporting to the Assistant AD for Facilities.  Plan, organize, schedule and execute utilization of athletic facilities and athletic / recreational / intramural / club sport events.  Other responsibilities include but are not limited to oversight of set up and breakdown of university and external events in athletic facilities, serving as daily facility manager, and coordinating of camps and coaching clinics.

Duties include the following:

  • Assist with the scheduling of athletic / recreation / intramural facilities
  • Assist with the event set up and breakdown for athletic, university and external events at the Fitness and Recreation Center (FRC), Dworkin Student Services and Activities Complex (DSAC), and Dowling Park (DP – limited to athletic events)
  • Serve as Game Day Manager for athletic events at Fitness and Recreation Center (FRC located in Hammond), James B. Dworkin Student Service and Activities Complex (DSAC located in Westville), or Dowling Park (DH located in Hammond) and serve as liaison for visiting teams and officials.  Schedule and coordinate utilization of PNW facilities for visiting team practice.
  • Serve as daily Building Manager at FRC and DSAC
  • Schedule and oversee student staffing for athletic events and intramurals
  • Coordinate scheduling of camps and coaching clinics and oversee facility usage for camps
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Education, Fitness or related program is preferred.

Experience

Two years basketball coaching and athletic facilities/events experience required at the professional, college or high school level.
