Description:

The Assistant Basketball Coach at Fort Lewis College, a NCAA Division II institution in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, is responsible for assisting the Head Basketball Coach in all aspects of an athletically competitive men’s basketball program, including, but not limited to:

•Assist in organizing and conducting all skill instruction, practice, scheduling of games, competition and training schedules;

•Effectively manage relationships with student-athletes, coaches and the broader campus community;

•Assist in recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes;

•Provide appropriate leadership in practice and competitive environments;

•Help ensure a quality student-athlete experience through community engagement, campus involvement and competitive achievement;

•Monitor academic and disciplinary standing of student-athletes;•Establish positive relationships with support staff;

•Assist in the scheduling and organizing of basketball camps and clinics;

•Participate in designated conference and NCAA meetings, and represent the basketball program at specific college, department, alumni, media and community events

•Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success,as well as working with broadly diverse communities

•Maintains knowledge and awareness of digital accessibility including the American with Disabilities Act and Section 508.

•Produces and remediates digitally accessible materials in accordance with FLC standards.

•Perform other duties as assigned
