Under the supervision of the Athletics Director, and the Head Coach of the Men’s Basketball Program, the Assistant Coach’s primary responsibility will be to assist the head coach in all facets of the program, including, but not limited to:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:

– The recruitment of quality student-athletes.

– Support the academic success of all student-athletes

– Demonstrate a strong commitment to the Students personal and professional development.

– Organization and planning of practices.

– Game preparation.

– Administrative duties as assigned

– Scouting and game film preparation.

– Fundraising.

– Monitoring of student-athlete academic progress.

– Budget management.

– Travel.

– Compliance with NCAA.

– Strong organization skills required.

– Driver’s License required.

– Excellent customer and staff relation skills required.

– Must comply with policies established by federal and state laws, City University of New York (CUNY), CUNY Athletic Conference, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA Division III) policies and procedures.

-Must comply with all COVID-19 safety guidelines

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Bachelor’s degree with successful collegiate basketball experience.
2. Current CPR / AED certifications must be obtained upon hiring.
3. Driver’s License required.
4. Excellent customer and staff relation skills required.
5. Strong organization skills required.
