The Kansas City Athletics Men’s Basketball Team is accepting applications for an Assistant Coach position. Responsibilities will include assisting with the coordination of practices, recruiting, budget management, scouting of opponents, game management, summer camp, and all other duties as assigned by the head men’s basketball coach of the intercollegiate basketball program.

A Bachelor’s degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Two to three years of intercollegiate basketball coaching experience in one or more areas of athlete development/administration/team recruitment for basketball or superior personal performance and achievement in basketball in combination with relevant life experiences which coaching ability can be effectively projected. Recruiting ability required. Must be able to follow the requirements of the NCAA, the Summit League and the mission of UMKC. Must be able to communicate effectively and foster positive relations with prospective and enrolled student-athletes, fellow coaches, athletics and university administration and the general public; and have a clear understanding of the role of athletics within the university community.
