GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach is to instruct athletes in how to perform their sport. In addition, they will serve as the Athletic Department’s Marketing Liaison and work 8am-Noon in the Marketing office. Furthermore, they will support the Head Coach with in and off season workouts, practices, scrimmages and games. Salary for this position is a range from $25,000 – $30,000 and includes housing. This position also receives 3/4 medical benefits and retirement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES – (ASSISTANT MEN’S BASKETBALL COACH)

The Assistant Basketball Coach will assist the head coach in the management and coaching of an NJCAA/ICCAC Division II men’s basketball program. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with operations management (e.g., program development, schedule, camps, marketing, public relations), recruiting (domestic and international), overseeing and planning the development of team systems, conducting individual workouts, and other duties as assigned.

• Work 20 hours/week in the Marketing Dept. as the Athletic Dept. Marketing Liaison.
• Instruct athletes in how to perform their sport, team concepts, and safety.
• Assist head coach with recruiting of athletes.
• Understand and comply with all NJCAA and ICCAC rules and regulations.
• Maintain required records.
• Attend local, state and college meetings that are necessary, or required in order to fulfill job expectations and requirements.
• Participate in Athletic Department meetings and fundraising events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• At least one to two years of college coaching experience preferred.
• Must have flexible hours to meet practice, games, and travel demands.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
