Provide assistance to the Head Coach in the areas of recruiting, training, scheduling, and conditioning exercises.  The Assistant Coach of Men’s Basketball is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Louisiana College, the Red River Athletic Conference and the NAIA.

Essential Functions:

• Schedule and runs practices for the men’s basketball team; establishes the daily practice routine to include conditioning, running and scrimmages.
• Assist in academic counseling and advising of athletes.
• Travel with the team to ensure the players are prepared for the game.
• Scout upcoming opponents to determine weaknesses, strengths and tendencies; works with Head Coach to develop game plan.
• Assist in the facility care and maintenance for HO West Gymnasium and Walden Gym.
• Assist with year-round recruitment of high school and junior college players, including recruitment by evaluation, phone and written communication to coaches and players while maintaining a database of viable recruits for the women’s basketball program.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Organize, promote and conduct summer camps and various mini-camps throughout the year.
• Perform other related duties as required.
