Loyola University New Orleans is seeking an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach. Within the framework of the Loyola University New Orleans mission of educating the whole person, the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach will support both the men’s basketball team by fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of the position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach in providing coaching expertise and administrative duties for the intercollegiate men’s basketball program on a full-time basis. This is a ten month position.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree. Master’s preferred; thorough knowledge of the rules and regulations governing the conduct of intercollegiate athletics; successful coaching experience at the high school or college level or former intercollegiate basketball player; knowledge of the NAIA rules to include eligibility is preferred; ability to work effectively with college student athletes, faculty, staff, alumni and member of the community; must be proficient in MS Office; must be able to perform the administrative functions of the position; must have a philosophy of intercollegiate athletics that places the highest emphasis on the pre-eminence of the academic mission of the institution and the role of athletics a part of the student total personal system of ethical values which will be used as the basis for supervising and developing the intercollegiate program; beliefs basically supportive of and compatible with the principles of Catholic, Jesuit higher education and the specified goals of the University; experience in technical aspects of basketball; similar with video editing programs (Synergy, SPORTSCode Gamebreaker or similar programs); must possess and maintain a current valid driver’s license as a condition of employment, and must also be able to successfully pass any driver background information investigation and any driver education courses required by Risk Management; prior supervisory experience preferred; must be able to raise and lower basketball goals, assist in setting up bleachers and breaking down, scorer’s tables and player seating for intercollegiate contests and drive and transport athletes if needed with or without accommodations.
