Northland College, an NCAA Division III institution located on the shores of Lake Superior in Ashland, Wisconsin, is seeking candidates for a Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach. Salary includes a stipend and on-campus dorm housing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required. Ability to perform all job duties in a manner consistent with NCAA, Upper Midwest Athletic Conference and Northland College rules, regulations, ordinances, policies, procedures and guidelines.

Minimum of two years successful basketball coaching experience.

Demonstrated history of successful recruiting of student-athletes.

Strong interpersonal and computer skills. Valid driver’s license.

Ability to accept and carry out assigned program and responsibilities. Ability to communicate effectively and work well with other coaches, students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni and the community.

Ability to pass the NCAA recruiting test and have a thorough understanding of NCAA rules and regulations. A demonstrated commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes and their ability to succeed both academically and athletically is essential.

Duties include:

• Recruiting high quality student-athletes
• Individual and team on-court instruction
• Provide academic assistance and monitoring of student-athletes
• Advance scouting of opponents
• Travel & meal scheduling
• Additional duties as assigned by the head coach and athletic director
• Will also include duties within the Student Life/Residential Life department as assigned by the Dean of Students
