Pratt Institute has an athletics history dating back to the founding of the institution.  Currently, Pratt is a member of the NCAA Division III and Coast-to-Coast Conference.  The Department of Athletics and Recreation is searching for a highly motivated, student-focused assistant men’s basketball coach to assist in the growth of the department and athletic programs.

Reporting to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach, the Assistant Coach will assist in developing, organizing and administering all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball program.  The Athletics and Recreation Department is committed to providing a wide range of activities and services that assist Pratt students of various backgrounds and abilities in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Help plan and oversee practices
  • Aid in all levels of student-athlete recruitment
  • Assist in scouting, game, and practice planning
  • Participate in professional electronic, phone and interpersonal communication to individual players, administrators and recruits.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field, Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience & Skills:

  • Prior coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred
  • Experience recruiting and the ability to successfully recruit student-athletes
  • Familiarity with NCAA Division III rules.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Ability to work well in a diverse work environment

Other:  Valid Driver’s License required
