Guided by the Rhodes Vision, the Assistant Men’s basketball Coach should build a sense of community and enthusiasm around the men’s basketball program by engaging the student body, alumni, parents and fans. Strong relational skills with internal and external constituents are critical. Other duties include participating in development and fundraising activities with various constituents and/or other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Athletics. Maintaining a working relationship with campus colleagues, alumni, community members, and other constituents is key. The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach will organize and implement practice and game plans in coordination with the Head Men’s Basketball Coach; recruit for basketball; and perform designated facility duties. Also serve as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. Supervise fitness room and other athletic facilities as assigned by the Executive Director of Athletics. This position requires flexibility to travel and work weekends and evenings when necessary. This is a full-time 10 month position.

A Bachelor’s degree is required. The ideal candidate will have previous coaching experience with a strong understanding of the DIII philosophy and its role at a private liberal arts institution. They must also possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, communicate effectively (verbal and written), have the ability to multi-task and operate within an extremely motivated, team oriented atmosphere. Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Valid driver’s license required.
