The Assistant Basketball Coach is responsible for the daily operation of the designated sport as directed by the Head Coach.  The major goal is to ensure a quality program that reflects the Mission of Rowan College at Burlington County.

OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:
The most important overall responsibility of all RCBC employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students, other members of the college and the public.

INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:
Accepts responsibility for the timely preparation of student outcomes assessment efforts of the faculty in planning, collecting data, and reporting dates as they relate to course outcomes, program outcomes, general education outcomes, and developmental program outcomes. Actively participates in setting annual division goals and objectives, completing OIR reporting forms, collecting data, analyzing data, and preparing a report using guidelines established by OIR.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out daily sport practices and game day procedures as directed by the Head Coach
• Supervise practices and games in the absence of the Head Coach
• Adhere to the NJCAA student-athlete eligibility rules.
• Monitor academic progress of student-athletes.
• Recruit student-athletes from area high schools.
• Assist in the development and enforcement of team rules.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and uniforms.
• Drive College vehicle (15 passenger van) to away contests.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Director of Athletics

Minimum Qualifications

Education
Associates degree, Bachelors preferred.
Experience
Minimum 3 years coaching experience on the high school or College level
Playing experience in the designated sport.
Certifications and Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of the sport and current coaching techniques
CPR/First Aid Certified
Valid driver’s license
