The Assistant Men’s Basketball coach, assists with all phases of coaching an intercollegiate team, including recruiting, scouting, game management and promotions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Coaches at the direction of the head coach. Provides on court coaching, instruction, demonstration and teaching.

Recruits and scouts prospective student athletes from high school, junior and community colleges

Performs administrative duties as assigned by Head Coach

Coordinates and arranges team travel.

Managing laundry & equipment.

Supervision of managers

Driving vans to some local competitions.

Develops and distributes scouting reports on opponents, analyzing opponents film and scouting reports. Organizing on-campus visits by prospective student-athletes (both official and unofficial)

Assists with summer camps

Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NAIA, Conference, and University rules and regulations

Establishes and ensures communication and enforcement of rules and regulations concerning student-athlete conduct, appearance, road games, punctuality and other areas

Minimum Requirements

Education – Bachelor’s Degree.

Experience – Previous collegiate (or higher level) coaching experience or playing experience.

Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of NAIA rules.

Word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.

Ability to

Multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Have Oral and written communication skills.

Must possess a valid driver’s license for occasional transportation of student athletes. CDL encouraged.
