Description:

The Intercollegiate Athletics Department at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville invites applications for a full-time, Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach.  Reporting to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and Director of Athletics, the Assistant Basketball Coach assists with the organization of practices, team recruitment, team travel and planning, department fund raising, and any other area of responsibility as directed by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics.   The selected candidate will be expected to comply with all university, conference and NCAA Division I rules and regulations.

Additionally, the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach will support the student athlete concept and at all times demonstrate concern for the health, safety, and welfare of each student athlete. Other duties and goals may be assigned in support of the department’s needs and goals.  Due to the nature of the position early morning, evenings, and weekend hours will be required. Extensive travel during basketball season is also required.

Final candidate must be authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship.

Fully certified at the Division I level by the NCAA, SIUE is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference, the Mid-American Conference (MAC) (men’s wrestling), and the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) (men’s soccer).  The mission of the SIUE Intercollegiate Athletics program is to provide students with opportunities to enhance their education, to represent the University, and to participate in competitive sports while developing skills and understanding.
