Description: | The University of Wisconsin – La Crosse seeks applications for the full-time position of Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach/Sports Performance Coach. Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach (9 month appointment): The position of Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach will hold a 60% appointment in the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse Department of Intercollegiate Athletics (“the Department”) and will report directly to UWL’s Head Men’s Basketball Coach. The Assistant Coach will assist in the management of daily operations of a Division III intercollegiate men’s basketball program competing in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, with responsibilities including, but not limited to, assisting in the planning, recruiting, coaching, developing, implementing, and administering of the men’s basketball program to meet university and Department objectives. They will also be responsible for various administrative tasks associated with running an intercollegiate men’s basketball program, potentially including, but not limited to, the planning of team travel; managing equipment and/or video and technology needs; and coordinating camps. The Assistant Coach must conduct themselves in such a way as to enhance respect for the university, the Department, UWL men’s basketball program and UWL student athletes. Sports Performance Coach (12 month appointment): The Sports Performance Coaching position will hold a 40% appointment in the department and have the opportunity to bring knowledge, excitement and dedication the UW-La Crosse Sports Performance Program. They will provide leadership and direction in the areas of strength and conditioning, as well as overall student-athlete well-being, for a nationally successful athletics program. The individuals will serve as an assistant in the Sports Performance Center and be one of four strength and conditioning coaches employed by UWL Athletics to provide UWL student-athletes with program development, instruction, and coaching in the critical areas of strength and conditioning. The successful candidate must hold a national strength and conditioning certification and have experience developing comprehensive strength and conditioning programs for collegiate or professional athletes. Working with the staff, this assistant will collaborate with their specific teams coaching staffs and the UWL Sports Performance Center Staff to develop and implement training regimens for more their assigned teams. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree. Preferred Qualifications • Master’s or other post-graduate degree. |
