Reports to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and assists in the administration of all phases of the men’ s basketball program in accordance with NCAA Division I rules and philosophies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assists the Head Men’s Basketball Coach in the administration of all aspects of the basketball program, including but not limited to:

• Identifies, evaluates and recruits prospective student athletes
• Participates in on and off campus recruiting visits
• Works closely with admissions, housing and other campus entities relative to men’s basketball
• Academic advisor concerning class registration and continued progress toward degree
• Coordinate practice schedule in conjunction with women’s basketball and volleyball
• Participate in public relations, community outreach, fund-raising and promotional activities
• Assist in game planning and practice planning
• Pre-,In- and post-season on the floor coaching
• Represent Stetson University by adhering to high moral code and appropriate ethical standards

Minimum Education:  Bachelor’s degree; Masters Preferred

Required Skills

• Computer skills a must
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, fellow employees, program boosters, and the public.

As this position requires operation of University vehicles and traveling for recruiting purposes, the possession and maintenance of a Florida driver’s license and acceptable driving record is required.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree; master’s preferred
• Demonstrated ability to organize and develop world wide recruiting master plan
