Treasure Valley Community College, Ontario Oregon, has an opening for an assistant coach on the men’s basketball staff.  The assistant coach will assist the head coach with all aspects of the program in accordance with NWAC and College Rules including but not limited to:

• Assists in organizing, preparing and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition.
• Managing the video editing operation (Hudl) and assisting the coaches with the editing of game film.
• Creating player development plans with athletes and work with them on an individual basis
• Assisting the coaching staff with recruiting by attending games and showcases as well maintaining the recruiting database, coordinating recruiting travel and organizing all itineraries for on campus recruiting visits.
• Assisting the academic support staff by developing schedules for team functions with student-athlete academic goals in mind. Monitoring student-athlete daily schedules to minimize conflicts between academic and athletic pursuits.
• Plan and coordinate team functions and fundraising as well as any functions with alumni, donors and/or fans.
• Managing all aspects of the student managers by hiring them, providing continuous training and daily supervision.
• Assisting with travel logistics including hotels, buses, rentals, meals ect

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred

Individual should have a general understanding of the business of college athletics; coaching experience not necessary but helpful
