The University of Jamestown (NAIA), located in Jamestown, ND, is seeking applicants for assistant coach for the Jimmie men’s basketball program. The University of Jamestown men’s basketball program is a highly competitive member of the NAIA and the Great Plains Athletic Conference.

The selected candidate will assist the head coach in ensuring the team operates and conducts themselves within the ideals, goals, rules and regulations set forth by University of Jamestown and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The assistant coach will embrace and promote the five core character values of the NAIA Champions of Character; respect, integrity, responsibility, servant leadership and sportsmanship as well as the tenants of the University of Jamestown Journey to Success; Look Inward, Look Outward, Look Beyond and Look Forward. This position reports directly to the head men’s basketball head coach. The responsibilities of the assistant coach include, but are not limited to:

Assisting in fostering an atmosphere promoting academic success and personal development

Assist in practice preparation and game day duties

Other duties assigned by the head coach

Assist the head coach in recruiting and retention of academically qualified student-athletes

Collaborate with admission office staff and counselors for contacts, campus visits, and other recruiting activities

This is a 10-month, full-time staff position.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree, coaching and playing experience and strong oral and communications skills.
