The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach is responsible for conducting all facets of the program in the absence of the head coach, while supporting the Head Basketball Coach in all facets of the intercollegiate basketball program, with specific responsibility in coaching a particular segment of the game. All decisions by the assistant basketball coach are given primary weight in team decisions and assists in recruiting potential student athletes to play basketball at U of I.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree
• 10 years of Division I level basketball staff experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using and implementing scouting software (for example Synergy, Game Breaker, XOs)
• Five or more years of recruiting top-quality student-athletes at the NCAA Div. I level

Demonstrated public relations and organizational skills.

• Coaching philosophy consistent and/or complementary to that of the existing head coach.
