The University of South Carolina Salkehatchie has a Volunteer Assistant Men’s Basketball coaching position available. Complimentary housing is included with this position. There will be other opportunities to earn additional income based upon resume and qualifications. Volunteer Assistants in the past have also supplemented their income by doing individual training sessions with local athletes on their own time.

This coach must be able to provide assistance to Head Coach in all areas of the men’s basketball program including, but not limited to, recruiting, scouting, practice/game planning, player development, strength & conditioning workouts, academic progress monitoring, team travel, camps, etc.

Position Specific Responsibilities:

* Plan and conduct team and individual practice and training as directed. Assist in recruiting, travel arrangements, budget, home event management, strength & conditioning workouts, academic monitoring, and facility use as directed.

* Recruit athletically and academically qualified student-athletes, develop and establish recruiting areas and networks, and monitor initial and continuing academic eligibility.

* Conduct all aspects of programs in accordance with the rules and policies established by USC Salkehatchie, the Athletics Department, Region X, and the NJCAA.

* Project a positive image of athletics and the college within the Walterboro community and the extended community. Assist with fundraising, marketing, and promotional activities. Develop and establish a community involvement and participate in public relations activities. Provide leadership to the Athletic Department by encouraging support of athletic programs and actively supporting them with attendance at events.

Job Qualifications:

Candidates must possess strong organizational, communication and computer skills, familiarity with a variety of software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, Adobe Professional, Hudl, Synergy etc.; the ability to work independently and meet established work deadlines; and availability to work evenings, Sundays and weekends.
