Warren Wilson College, a prestigious liberal arts college located in Asheville, North Carolina, is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to fill the position of Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our student-athletes while gaining valuable coaching experience at the collegiate level. As a part-time stipend position, the Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to provide support in as many aspects of the Men’s Basketball program as able.

Responsibilities:

Player Development: Assist in planning and implementing effective practice sessions that enhance individual skills, team cohesion, and overall performance. Provide guidance and mentorship to student-athletes to help them reach their full potential both on and off the court.

Game Preparation: Assist in scouting opponents, analyzing game footage, and developing game plans to maximize the team’s chances of success. Collaborate with the coaching staff to strategize and make in-game adjustments as necessary.

Recruiting Assistance: Identify and evaluate potential student-athletes who align with the college’s athletic and academic standards. Assist in the recruitment process by attending high school games, tournaments, and other recruiting events.

Academic Support: Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes, ensuring they meet the college’s academic standards. Provide guidance and support to help student-athletes balance their academic and athletic responsibilities.

Program Administration: Assist in various administrative tasks, such as scheduling, travel arrangements, equipment management, and other duties as assigned by the head coach.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with all NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations. Stay updated on any changes or new policies that may impact the men’s basketball program.
