Description:

The Athletics Manager assigns and directs the coaches to carry out the following responsibilities:

  1. Maintain a working knowledge of the NJCAA eligibility rules and regulations as related to the sport being coached.
  2. Attend coaches meetings as scheduled by the Athletics Manager.
  3. Coordinate all aspects in coaching his/her individual sport as follows:
    1. Recruitment:
      1. Recruit students/athletes who are of college caliber.
    2. Team travel:
      1. Responsible for team conduct on all trips.
      2. Follow departmental policies on trips.
      3. Return college vehicles in clean order.
    3. Equipment
      1. Work with Athletics Manager to order team equipment.
      2. Distribute and collect all team issued equipment.
    4. Administration
      1. Prepare team rosters.
      2. Keep receipts of all money transactions and provide appropriate forms.
      3. Report all scores to designated media.
      4. Attend all meetings, such as, Waubonsee Staff, Skyway, Region IV
      5. Provide necessary information for team and individual honors to Region IV.
    5. Academic Monitoring
      1. Support and enforce all academic monitoring rules and procedures.
  4. Maintain a working knowledge of his/her sport and transmit it to the players; field a competitive and representable team.
  5. Assist in keeping the playing area in playing condition and assist in preparation of an event.
  6. Maintain good working relationships with the coaching staff.
  7. Exhibit professional appearance, conduct and behavior during athletic
  8. contests and when representing Waubonsee Community College.
  9. Comply with Athletic Trainers decision regarding the participation of injured player.
  10. Perform other duties may be assigned by the Athletics Manager.
