Description:

Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA, a Division III member of the NCAA and the Commonwealth Coast Conference, is seeking a highly-motivated individual to join the men’s basketball staff as the primary assistant coach. This is funded as a part-time position but a significant time commitment is expected. Must live in Boston or the surrounding area or be willing to re-locate to Boston or the surrounding area by September 5th.

Our 4 previous assistant coaches have moved on to: 

1.) assistant coach at MIT (now ESPN)

2.) JUCO head coach (now high school AD and head coach)

3.) D3 head coach

4.) D2 assistant coach

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility will be to assist the head coach in all facets of the program, including, but not limited to:

-Evaluation and recruitment of potential student-athletes (travel required)

-Recruiting communication and organization, including securing and planning on-campus visits

-Management of practice and game video technology

-Organize and direct player development sessions

-Assistance with organization and planning of practices

-Opponent Scouting

-Management and operation of team social media

-Academic monitoring and support

-Oversight of student managers

-Occasional Fall and Spring game administration and other duties as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree required

-Strong organizational and communication skills

-Must live in Boston or the surrounding area or be willing to re-locate to Boston or the surrounding area.

-Must have personal vehicle and a clean driving record

-Must be willing to submit to a background check

-Coaching and/or recruiting experience is preferred but not required

-CPR certification is preferred but not required

 

Compensation: 

Stipend of $10,000-$15,000. 

Opportunity/Expectation to make additional money on your own
