SUMMARY
Provide dynamic basketball instruction to both boys and girls in grades 3-9 in a summer basketball camp environment.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Assist in set up, check-in and tear-down of week-long basketball camps
  • Teach fundamental basketball skills to boys and girls in grades 3-9
  • Officiate basketball games
  • Keep score and statistics of games and contests
  • Handle typical injuries and behavioral issues which commonly occur in youth athletic events
  • Communicate player development to parents who inquire
  • Promote future Pistons Academy programs
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
  • Varsity or collegiate playing experience
  • Prior coaching experience a plus but not required
  • Basic knowledge of the game of basketball
  • Ability to referee basketball games
  • Ability to communicate the game to the younger athlete
  • Must be highly energetic and extremely motivated
  • Comfortable with speaking in front of large groups
  • Exceptional professionalism and polish in demeanor and appearance
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work 8:30-3:30pm, M-F
