Basketball Camp Counselors – University of Pennsylvania – Day Camp and Elite Camp
|School:||University of Pennsylvania|
The University of Pennsylvania men’s basketball program is running a day camp June 26-30, and we are looking for camp counselors. The Quaker Basketball Camp is an instructional day camp for boys ages 7 through 16 that teaches the basketball fundamentals in a positive and fun environment. Camps takes place at the historic Palestra, located on Penn’s campus in Philadelphia, and will run 9am until 3pm. This is a great opportunity for people looking to get into the coaching business and get some on-court experience while expanding their coaching network. Interested applicants should have a basketball background and an understanding of basketball fundamentals (coaching and/or playing experience preferred, but not necessary), as well as be enthusiastic and engaging with young people; counselors must be punctual and responsible for the campers on their team. Camp counselors are required to pass Pennsylvania state criminal background and child abuse checks as well as FBI fingerprint criminal history checks.
Elite Camp counselors are also needed for a limited number of positions for our one-day elite camp on August 12th. These camps are open to varsity players who are looking to play college basketball upon graduation, and camps are used as a recruiting and evaluation tool for our program. The ideal candidate has an extensive understanding of basketball with a coaching and/or playing background. Current college coaches preferred (NCAA Division II or III or equivalent). Counselors are subject to PA and FBI background checks as well.
Interested applicants can contact assistant coach Joe Mihalich at [email protected] to get more info.
