Description:

Organize all travel arrangements for the team, including air, bus, hotel, dining arrangements, and practice times on the road. Gather flight options and present to the Head Coach.

Book all flight travel and ensure payments are made for team flights. Submit names to travel agent prior to deadline.

Coordinate with opposing team for practice times.

Coordinate film exchange and film break down of scouting, practice sessions, and games. Contact other schools for film exchange. Create a spreadsheet of dates of games for our requested games and games requested of us. Organize game films.

Assist with office recruiting. Help organize itineraries for unofficial and official visits. Assist with mailings and faxes. Help update recruiting database on a daily basis by adding new prospects, deleting old prospects, and editing current prospect information.

Assist with camps. Send brochures to schools and athletes as directed. Organize registration and collect payment. Coordinate food, gym times, t-shirt orders, and dorms for all campus. Serve as camp coach/counselor for camp. Assist with camp set-up and clean up. Turn in receipts and payments as directed.

Organize community service projects for the basketball program. Reach out to non-profit organizations in the Kansas City community. Present options to Head Coach. Finalize details with organizations and student-athletes.

Supervise student managers and work study students

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree required. Candidates must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, exceptional administrative and organizational skills,the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, and an excellent attention to detail.

Candidates must also possess a professional demeanor and the ability to work effectively with various constituencies including prospective students, current students, their families, the general public, faculty, administrators and alumni. Experience managing a budget is a plus.

One to two years of experience with college coaching, sport operations, or managerial experience.
