Description:

The Athletics Department at Iowa State University is seeking applicants for an entry level Coordinator of Player Development to support the NCAA DI men’s basketball program. Duties include: assist the Special Assistant to the Head Coach with coordination of all aspects of video including practice film, self scouts and opponents scouts, gathering video data of HS prospects for recruiting purposes; assist staff and players individualized edits for skill development; assist in gathering data and create analytical reports for team and individual improvement; work with student-athlete academic development office to coordinate team outreach and volunteer activities; collect information and data on future opponents for scheduling purposes; assist Director of Operations with the day-to-day operations of the GA’s and student managers. The position will be responsible for helping foster an environment that promotes the well-being and personal development of the student-athletes. Responsible for a commitment to adhering to university, Big 12 Conference and NCAA policies, procedures, and regulations. Establish and maintain effective interactions with the university community, alumni, media and the public.

The position requires good knowledge of competitive basketball along with high work ethic and solid skill in video analysis. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree.
Directly related experience in basketball operations or coaching or competing in basketball at a highly competitive level.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Experience working for a NCAA DI men’s basketball program.

Experience using specialized software such as Hudl, Fast Model, SportsTec and/or Hoop 1 Media to breakdown and analyze basketball film for player development.
