Description: | Quinnipiac University is accepting applications for the position of Director for Men’s Basketball Academic Services to provide academic support for men’s basketball student-athletes. During the period of this appointment this position will report directly to the Associate Athletic Director for Academic Support. Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -Provide academic counseling and support for men’s basketball student-athletes to ensure they make appropriate progress to graduation as well as all academic matters related to University, conference and NCAA eligibility requirements. -Work with students in preparing academic plans and course schedules each semester. -Assist student-athletes in time management and study skills strategies. -Serve as advocate for student-athletes and as a liaison for academic issues with coaches, faculty, academic administrators and the Learning Commons. -Monitor team study hall on campus and on road trips as necessary. -Work with coaching staff to evaluate the eligibility of prospective incoming and transfer student-athletes. -Participate in on-campus recruiting activities with prospective student-athletes and their families. -Serve as co-adviser to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. -Attend NCAA Regional Rules Seminar and/or participate in professional development opportunities on an annual basis. -Adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity and work in compliance with all NCAA, MAAC Conference, and ECAC Conference rules and regulations. Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants: – Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. – A minimum of 3 years of progressive professional experience in academic support preferably at a NCAA Division I institution. – Working knowledge of NCAA academic, transfer and Academic Progress Rate rules is necessary. – Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong organizational skills. – Ability to work nights and weekends as required.
