The Director of Men’s Basketball Operations is a full-time, 10-month position.  The Director will manage the day-to-day administrative operations of the men’s basketball program, working closely with the coaches, student-athletes, and colleagues in the Department of Athletics & Physical Education.  The Director will be fully engaged in all aspects of men’s basketball operations, including budget development and monitoring, purchasing and expense reimbursements, scheduling and travel planning, video editing, recruiting support, community engagement, special events, student-athlete support, and other duties as assigned by the head coach in support of the men’s basketball program.  The Director will serve as liaison to several department units including compliance, athletics communications, facilities, event management, equipment operations, student-athlete services, marketing, ticket office, and finance.  The Director will manage the administrative affairs of the men’s basketball program to allow the coaches to focus more fully on coaching and recruiting.

This position requires extensive evening and weekend work and frequent travel during the basketball season. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree with two to three years of experience in a comparable role, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and fluid work environment.
  • Working knowledge of NCAA and Ivy League rules and procedures, or the ability to quickly learn such rules and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong technology skills, including experience with video editing software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with two to three years of NCAA Division I college basketball administrative experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of Cornell University policies and procedures.
  • Successful work experience at a highly-selective academic institution.
