Assists in preparing recruiting trips, official and unofficial visits, and campus tours for various sports.

• Adhere to all State of Florida, University, NCAA, Conference USA and department rules and policies pertaining to the position of Director of Men’s Basketball Operations.  Report any known NCAA violations or concerns to the Director of Athletic Compliance and be responsible for the monitoring of any subordinate as it relates to NCAA regulations.
• Assists in preparing recruiting trips and campus tours.  Assists in coordinating pre-season/summer training schedules (including meals, housing, etc).  Coordinates activities for recruiting visits and works with the Compliance office to secure all admissions-related paperwork.  Assists in gathering receipts.
• Works with the Student-Athlete Academic Center (SAAC) staff and coaches in monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes through verifiable records.  Works in maintaining NCAA academic benchmarks for initial and continuing eligibility as per NCAA By Law. Monitors attendance at study hall, classes and all mandatory meetings, events and activities.  Works with student athletes to enhance their management and study skills.  Prepares student athletes for team travel, including working with SAAC, to coordinate assignments due during team travel.
• Coordinates with the Athletic Department Administration and serves as a liaison for sports with various University units (housing, admissions, financial aid, etc.) on issues related to each respective area.
• Works closely with the Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development and Community Relations to ensure team community service involvement and to emphasize the value of education and the development of self-reliance, self-confidence, empowerment, and intrinsic motivation.
• Coordinates recruiting for coaches.  Serves as liaison with parents on visits and provides information about academic requirements.
• Works with student athletes to enhance their management and study skills.  Prepares student athletes for team travel, including working with SAAC, to coordinate assignments due during team travel.
• Assists student-athletes dealing with issues of making the transition from high school to college.
• Serves as liaison between the Faculty Athletic Representative and the basketball program.
• Reviews, understands and abides by all department procedures.
• Maintains confidentiality for the department.  Treats with utmost confidentiality and sensitivity any matter pertaining to academic and personal data of student athletes and any information either directly or indirectly impacting the University and/or Athletic Department.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed.  The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
