The Men’s Basketball Director of Operations is one of the positions responsible for administering all of the year-round activities of the Men’s Basketball Program. The Director is directly responsible to the Head Coach in all matters related to the operation of this program.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Director’s responsibilities are restricted and defined by NCAA rules and guidelines.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Organizing team travel arrangements, intersession and holiday housing and meals for all student athletes;
  • Assisting with on-campus recruiting within NCAA guidelines for prospective student athletes;
  • DVD film exchange per Southern Conference and NABC guidelines;
  • Assisting with purchases of all equipment including uniforms, office supplies, audio visual and editing equipment;
  • Assisting in supervision of team academic progress;
  • Day-to-day office management and working with facilities scheduling.

The Director will participate as Coach and Administrator for all Men’s Basketball Camp Programs, including player development and coaching development of elementary, middle school and high school students and coaches.

Authority

In all major decisions, the Director’s authority would be deferred to the Head Coach. This individual is responsible for following the policies and procedures of the University, Conference and the NCAA in day-to-day operation of the program.

Organizational Relationships

The Men’s Basketball Director of Operations reports directly to the Head Coach who is responsible to the Director of Athletics.

As an employee of the Intercollegiate Athletics Department, the individual will be actively involved in relationships within the campus, Greensboro and Alumni community.

External relationships will exist with prospective student-athletes and their parents per NCAA guidelines, the NABC, North Carolina Coaches Association and other related organizations. In addition, external relationships will exist with prospective camp participants and their parents, as well as, with coaches that are employed to participate in camps.

The position is available September 1, 2017.
