The Director of Basketball Operations (DOBO) will report to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and provide operational support for all areas of the University of New Orleans men’s basketball program. The DOBO will be the program liaison to athletics administration for social media, program promotion and publicity, student-athlete housing and community outreach programming.

Responsibilities

The DOBO will coordinate team travel and assist with outbound recruiting travel for coaching staff and inbound recruiting travel for prospective student-athletes. In addition to planning all team meals during travel, the DOBO will also be responsible for scheduling post-game meals after home games.

The DOBO will serve as the liaison with opponents for the scheduling of practice and shoot-around times; distribution of game video; and fulfillment of contractual commitments to visiting teams.

The DOBO will be responsible for the coordination, promotion and management of camps.

The DOBO will perform other duties as assigned by the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and the Director of Athletics.

Required Qualifications

​Bachelor’s degree; 2-3 years’ experience in college or professional basketball as a player, coach, or administrator. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment within a culture of collaboration, support and inclusiveness. Ability to work nights, weekend and travels frequently is required and expected.

Desired Qualifications

Master’s degree and experience as a Division I student-athlete, coach or administrator s preferred. Excellent organization and time management skills; demonstrated experience with social media; firm understanding of current technology and ability to use technology to advance the program.​​​
