Position Information

Under the direct supervision of the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, the Director of Basketball Operations has the responsibility of carrying out all duties assigned as they relate to the administration of the sport and to always work in the best interest of the program, the Athletic Department, and the University. As a staff member of both the Men’s & Women’s Basketball programs, the majority of duties will be administrative in nature.

Reports to Director of Athletics, Head Coach for Men’s and Women’s Basketball.

Supervises: Graduate Assistants and Student Workers.

Position Description & Details

Administrative

  • Provide administrative support for the WBB and MBB coaching staffs.
  • Responsible for business operations for both programs to include, but not limited to: travel, purchasing and reimbursements.
  • Responsible for facility and practice scheduling and setup.
  • Responsible for camp operations for both programs
  • Assist in maintaining and recording NCAA compliance for both programs
  • Assist in planning and administration of recruiting for both programs
  • Perform player-personnel duties for both programs including but not limited to: community service, community engagement and academic assistance.
  • Annually declare and receive approval from the Director of Athletics and President for all outside income.
  • Responsible for other work-related duties as assigned by either Head Coach or the Director of Athletics, or his/her designee.

 

Coaching

 

  1. Required to annually pass the NCAA coaching requirements before recruiting off campus.
  1. Assist each Head Coach in recruiting qualified student-athletes.
  1. Responsible for other work-related duties as assigned by either Head Coach or the Director of Athletics, or his/her designee.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree prefered
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Experience to include knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
