The Director of Basketball Operations assists with the organization and supervision of all logistical aspects of the Men’s Basketball Team within the parameters designated by the University, the Southland Conference, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adhere to any and all NCAA, Southland Conference and Nicholls State University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.
  • Assist in the on-campus recruitment of prospective student-athletes; maintain recruiting software and coordinate weekly mailings.
  • Creation of graphics for recruiting and social media
  • Coordinate all video (i.e., film exchange, film editing, scout tapes, etc.)
  • Organize special events (i.e., banquets, senior and meet the team day, etc.).
  • Coordinate all travel for the team and coaches for competitions and recruiting.
  • Coordinate all community service functions for the assigned program.
  • Serve as the liaison with marketing/promotions, compliance, academic support, facility management, and game operations.
  • Coordinate summer camp operations.
  • Perform related departmental duties as required.
  • Assist in on-court skill development
  • Oversight of student managers
  • Coordinates the scheduling of facilities for practice, game day shoot-a-rounds, and out-of-season workouts.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested by Head Coach and/or staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 2-3 years of related experience required.
  • Ability to be detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well with a diverse group of people and foster an inclusive environment.
  • Must be able to work hours during home games, road games, alumni/fan events, team activities, on and off-campus community service events, unofficial & official visit planning.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, PhotoShop, Canva, Synergy, and Sportscode.
