Marquee Hoops is one of the premier middle & high school event management, marketing, and scouting companies in the country. We operate 20+ events a year coast to coast and provide the most competitive, organized, and high exposure events in the business.

Job Summary

The Director of Events is in charge of leading the recruitment of all Marquee Hoops events. Whether it be our middle school or high school camps, circuits or tournaments, the Director Of Events will fill a sales representative role to help secure teams and individual players in order to sell out events. Whether it be phone sales, social media marketing campaigns or face-to-face recruitment, it’s the job of the Director Of Events is to utilize any and all avenues to achieve sales goals. To help in the success of the position, it will be required for the ideal candidate to learn and familiarize themselves in email marketing strategies, social media proficiency & have good communication skills. It’s also crucial for this person to have exemplary organizational skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage sales for Marquee Hoops

  •  Lead daily meetings with sales team for Marquee Hoops

  •  Manage task manager software and make sure all staff tasks are listed and completed in a timely manner

  • Overseeing payments for all team and individual events in a timely manner

  •  Help manage budgets and finances for all existing and emerging events

  •  Managing/Directing in-event operations, including the on-court execution of all events

  • Assisting in creating yearly schedule of events for Marquee Hoops

  • Lead recruitment for Marquee Hoops team events i.e. circuits, tournaments & team showcase

  • Lead recruitment for all Marquee Hoops individual events i.e. camps & player showcase

  •  Assisting/overseeing the scheduling of each individual event

  •  Participate in at least one professional development class per year that is geared toward the developing new marketing strategies and trends

  •  Provide attentive customer service via telephone and email to Marquee Hoops customers

  • Responsible for meeting the goals of participants and gross revenues for all events

Qualifications and Skills

  • Decisive and Problem Solving: Proven ability to make decisions under pressure, and solve problems on the fly.

  • Personable: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Organized: Strong ability to multitask and prioritize.

  • Relationship Management:  Willingness and passion to build relationships across all spectrums of the grassroots basketball community in order to drive sales and registration to the company.

  • Technology:  Proficient in Google Docs, Google Sheets, Monday, Exposure Events, etc.

  • Conflict Resolution:  Exudes confidence and amicably resolves conflicts with co-workers, spectators, parents, players, officials, etc.

  • Ability to Receive Delegation: Ability to implement direction from management.

  • Proactive: Anticipates event needs and implements resolve (action, communication, etc.), without explicit direction.

  • Accountability: Ability to complete tasks and expectations without micromanagement.

  • Event Management: Experience in running tournaments of at least 75 teams and managing multi-site events is highly preferred.

  • Excellent Communication Skills
