Description:

Manhattan College, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking a qualified candidate for a 12 month, full-time position as Director of Basketball Operations. The Director of Basketball Operations (DOBO) leads the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball program by recruiting and developing qualified student-athletes, supervising assistant coaches, and organizing schedules. The DOBO must conduct the program in a manner that recognizes the primacy of academics by recruiting, supporting, and retaining student-athletes who will be competitive in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, The DOBO must ensure that the Men’s Basketball program operates in compliance with all College, MAAC and NCAA rules and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Team travel
  • Players and Staff Home and away game ticket requests
  • Practice and walk thru times while on the road
  • Reviewing and updating the Draddy Calendar with the Athletic Facilities and Events staff
  • Practice and walk thru times for opponents
  • Trainer liaison
  • Housing liaison
  • Class checks
  • Film exchange
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Men’s Basketball Coach

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of full-time prior experience at the Division I level.
  • Assertive, outgoing, hard-working and resourceful.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships and create partnerships with a wide range of constituent groups.
  • Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Required to travel and the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail and keep specific timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to work effectively with coaches, students, faculty, administration, alumni, and community.
