The primary role of the Director of Men’s Basketball Operations is to assist the Head Coach in the organization, development, and planning of the day to day operations of the basketball program. This position must manage the basketball office and supervise the student-managers.  This position serves as the liaison between all departments within athletics and among the University as they relate to Men’s Basketball. This position also handles the organization and maintenance of the youth summer camps.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Direct all Facets of Office Operations By:

• Supervising Office Secretary
• Ensuring that responses and requests to phone calls and mailings are made in a timely manner
• Providing assistance to coaching staff with various work related requests
• Maintaining a professional environment for student-athletes, employees, and public

Serve as a Liaison between Athletic Staff , University Staff, Outside Agencies and Basketball Program By:

• Coordinating schedules, meetings, and appointments with student-athletes and coaches
• Assisting with NCAA compliance rules and regulations maintenance for student-athletes
• Serving as a voice for the basketball program by engaging in meetings with on-campus constituents such as: the Office of Academic Support Services, Sports Medicine, Sports Information, Pirate Blue, Housing and Residence Life, Health Services, and Assistant Athletic Directors, Senior Associate Athletic Directors, and Director of Athletics

Coordinator of Youth Summer Camps By:

• Controlling all financial aspects of camp
• Conducting all ordering of supplies and apparel
• Overseeing the operation of camp
• Directing Gourmet Dining Service on meal requests
• Designing applications and advertisements for the marketing of camp

Conduct all Ordering and Designing of Equipment for Program By:

• Ensuring that contract specifications for apparel provider are administered and carried out
• Providing uniform design and specifications to apparel provider
• Monitoring the need for and use of practice apparel and equipment, shoes, and team travel apparel and equipment

Oversee Student Managers By:

• Delegating specific duties to staff of student-managers
• Administering daily work related responsibilities pertaining to the function of practice, travel, and office operations
• Ensuring proper academic standing and performance

Monitor Head Coach’s Calendar and Team Calendar By:

• Ensuring all speaking engagements, public relation events, and media obligations are conducted
• Administering and coordinating all community service events with program

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Prior experience (at least one year) as a player, coach, or manager with a Division I Basketball Program.
