To assist the men’s basketball program in its goal to have a championship-caliber program. To assist the men’s basketball student-athletes in their development through academics and sports participation and with generating support for the men’s basketball program through community outreach.

Position Responsibilities:

– Keep accurate files to maintain and remain in compliance with University, A-10, and NCAA rules and regulations.
– Organize team travel, including hotels, meals, and practice times.
– Act as liaison between men’s basketball and facilities and athletic administration.
– Create mail-outs/faxes.
– Organize and direct summer basketball programs.
– Organize and supervise community outreach for the men’s basketball program.
– Supervision and oversight of student managers.
– Promote execution of the Athletic Department’s strategic plan by adhering to its mission and core values and acting upon its goals and strategies.

Required Qualifications:

– Must have an advanced degree or training and work experience at a level that equates to an advanced degree.
– Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
– Valid Drivers License.
– A minimum of two (2) years’ experience at the NCAA Division I level men’s basketball program.

Preferred Qualifications:

– Previous playing experience in the sport of men’s basketball is preferred.
